    Emulsion pavement maintenance employs several techniques to extend the lifespan of roads. Common methods include fog sealing, where a thin layer of diluted bitumen emulsion is sprayed to rejuvenate aged surfaces; slurry sealing, which fills small cracks and improves surface texture; and microsurfacing, a quick-setting mix for leveling and minor profiling. Crack sealing with emulsion prevents water ingress and further pavement deterioration. These techniques are cost-effective and minimize traffic disruption, as they often allow for rapid reopening of treated areas.
