Emulsion spray sealing involves applying a layer of bitumen emulsion onto a prepared road surface, followed by the spreading of aggregate chips. The process starts with cleaning the road surface to remove debris. A specialized spray truck uniformly applies the emulsion at a specified rate. Immediately after, aggregate chips are spread over the wet emulsion using a chip spreader. The surface is then rolled to embed the chips into the emulsion. The emulsion breaks and sets, binding the aggregates and forming a protective, skid-resistant surface layer.
