The TOR-5 does not dry only the oil in isolation – its main practical effect is the gradual reduction of moisture in the entire insulation system, including paper. Since moisture continuously migrates between oil and cellulose, drying the oil creates a concentration gradient that pulls water out of the paper over time. This is a slow equilibrium-driven process, but in long-term operation it leads to a real decrease of paper moisture content. It is not a fast regeneration method, but a continuous conditioning approach that stabilizes the whole insulation system.
