Elastômeros são polímeros que aumentam a elasticidade e a flexibilidade do betume modificado, permitindo que o pavimento suporte melhor as deformações causadas pelo tráfego e pelas variações de temperatura. Polímeros como SBS são comuns na modificação de betume e são utilizados para melhorar o desempenho do asfalto.
