The most common methods used for zeolite regeneration include:
Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA): Used in gas separation, this method involves reducing pressure to release adsorbed gases like nitrogen.
Thermal Regeneration: Heating the zeolite to desorb moisture, organic compounds, or other adsorbates.
Chemical Regeneration: In water treatment, a chemical solution like sodium chloride (NaCl) is used to displace ions (e.g., ammonium, calcium) from the zeolite.
Ozone Regeneration: Used to oxidize and remove organic contaminants from zeolite beds.
Vacuum Regeneration: Reducing pressure further than PSA to regenerate zeolite in specialized conditions, especially for moisture or volatile contaminants.
