Zeolite granules are packed into the adsorption beds of oxygen concentrators, where they serve as the active material for gas separation. During operation, compressed air passes through these beds, and the zeolite selectively adsorbs nitrogen molecules from the air due to its microporous structure. The size and uniformity of the granules are critical for efficient airflow and optimal contact with the air molecules. After the zeolite becomes saturated with nitrogen, the system reduces the pressure to release the adsorbed nitrogen in a process called regeneration. This cyclical adsorption and desorption enable the concentrator to provide a continuous supply of oxygen-enriched air.
