Yes, mustard oil can be converted into biodiesel and used as a renewable fuel in diesel engines. Its relatively high unsaturated fatty acid content makes it a good feedstock for transesterification, producing a clean-burning biodiesel with good cold flow properties. Direct use of raw mustard oil is not advised due to its high viscosity and poor combustion behavior. However, when processed in a GlobeCore USB biodiesel plant, mustard oil becomes a compliant and engine-safe fuel that meets EN and ASTM standards.
