On 28 June 2019, GlobeCore in cooperation with TPyA (Tecnologías Predictivas y Automatización) held a seminar on dielectric oils in Mexicali.
The seminar was attended by 35 visitors from Mexican transformer maintenance companies. GlobeCore’s Jose Mora addressed various ways of transformer lifetime extension. The report focused on transformer oil purification and regeneration, including processing of oil in energized transformers. Other topics included transformer repairs and servicing equipment, such as vacuum cabinets for drying of transformer windings, cold traps to freeze moisture out of insulation, as well as oil filling machines for high voltage bushings etc.
Another speaker at the seminar was the representative of Vaisala (Mexico) Daniel Jiménez, who drew the attention of the participants to the importance of controlling the current condition of insulation oil and the equipment necessary for such monitoring.
