GlobeCore has developed the CMM-260C, a railway transformers online drying system, for utilisation in railway infrastructure. The system has been engineered to facilitate the extraction of moisture from transformer oil without the need to halt equipment operations, a feature of paramount importance to ensure the seamless functioning of railway infrastructure. Transformers on railways are subject to challenging operating conditions, including variable weather, constant loads, and high vibration. With the passage of time, the presence of moisture has been known to penetrate the oil, thereby reducing its insulating properties. This phenomenon has been known to result in accidents or even train stoppages. The CMM-260C is designed to connect to the transformer during operation, thereby removing moisture from the oil and returning it to the system. The process is entirely automated, with the system monitoring temperature, pressure and humidity in real time. The unit’s mobility, compactness and ease of use make it well suited to deployment in railway and traction substations. The CMM-260C has been demonstrated to have a number of key benefits for transformer maintenance. These include the prolongation of service life, the reduction of repair costs, and an enhancement of the reliability of the railway power supply.
