Globecore’s LFD mining power transformers drying machine has been developed with the intention of removing moisture from transformers used in mines and underground power systems. It is hoped that the equipment will help to extend the life of transformers, improve their insulating properties and reduce the risk of failure. LFD uses thermal vacuum drying technology that is believed to effectively remove moisture from transformer oil and windings. In underground environments where high humidity, temperature and dust accelerate insulation ageing, regular drying is thought to be able to prevent breakdowns, overheating and power loss. Its compact design and ease of use make the LFD a versatile solution for coal, ore and other mining operations, and the unit can be easily connected to transformers of various capacities, operating automatically and requiring minimal maintenance.
