The LFD network distribution transformers drying machine, developed by Globecore, is designed to effectively remove moisture from transformers used in municipal and industrial power supply systems. If transformers are dried regularly, they will work better, last longer and there will be fewer emergency shutdowns. LFD uses a process called thermovacuum drying to remove all moisture from the transformer’s windings (the insulated conductors) and its transformer oil. This is important because moisture can damage insulating materials, which can lead to breakdowns and overheating. The LFD is compact and mobile, making it easy to use on-site. It is easy to connect to the equipment, operates automatically and requires minimal personnel involvement.
