In general, TOR-5 does not directly measure or display oil breakdown voltage, because BDV testing requires applying a controlled high voltage between electrodes in a test cell, which cannot be done safely or reliably online. TOR-5 focuses on parameters that correlate with dielectric strength, such as moisture, temperature, and hydrogen trends. These give an indirect indication of insulation condition, but periodic offline BDV testing with a dedicated tester is still necessary for an actual breakdown voltage value.
