In practical LFD drying, the winding temperature is usually controlled in the range of 80 to 110 °C, depending on insulation class, paper type, and manufacturer limits. Most processes target around 90-100 °C as an optimal compromise: high enough to accelerate moisture diffusion and evaporation, but still safely below temperatures that would cause rapid cellulose degradation. For very large windings, temperature is raised gradually and kept uniform to avoid thermal stresses. The exact limit is always set by the transformer design and monitored continuously during the process.
