GlobeCore has developed the CMM-260C, a water treatment plants transformers online drying system, for use in water treatment plants. It has been suggested that this could allow moisture to be removed from transformer oil without stopping the equipment, which may be especially important for continuous water supply and water treatment facilities. Transformers in such facilities operate in a humid environment, where it has been observed that moisture accumulates in the oil over time. This has the potential to reduce the insulating properties and increase the risk of overheating, short circuits, and consequently, emergency shutdowns of critical systems. It is our understanding that online drying with the CMM-260C is carried out without disconnecting the transformer. The unit has been designed to automatically draw oil, dry it and return it. It is my understanding that all parameters – humidity, temperature, pressure – are monitored in real time. The CMM-260C is mobile, compact and easy to maintain.
