A transformer power box (kiosk or pad-mounted enclosure) houses a distribution transformer and protective devices that step medium voltage down to low voltage for buildings or residential streets. The box provides physical protection, tamper resistance and weatherproofing while enabling underground distribution networks common in urban areas.
