-
Advantages
- accurate measurement of residual gas content of transformer oil;
- reliable operation;
- convenient and robust housing;
- the measuring process takes up to 10 minutes;
- the possibility to print the results using an integrated thermal printer.
Transformer oil degassing is necessary for removal of dissolved gases which improves the insulating properties of oil, as well as prevents corrosion and wear of power-generating equipment. TOR-8 instrument is used in the processes of removing dissolved gasses from insulating oils (oil degassing) in degassing machines. Its main purpose is to facilitate measuring the efficiency of the degassing procedures performed by these machines. The use of this instrument makes it possible to accurately evaluate the gas removal rate for oil.
The instrument is widely used at installation, repair, and operation entities dealing with transformer oil processing. Owing to this instrument, professionals can easily and efficiently monitor the degassing process, which makes up an important part in maintenance and operation of transformer equipment.
Principle of operation
The principle of the instrument’s operation is based on recording a change in gas pressure inside a cylinder under vacuum when it is filled with a portion of oil. Knowing the volumes of the cylinder and the oil filled, the pressure values inside the cylinder before and after filling, it is possible to determine the volumetric gas content.
The residual gas content is measured during operation of the degassing machine.
