For applications such as the GE Vernova voltage project, the heating stage is particularly critical, because oil temperature stability directly affects both degassing efficiency and downstream dielectric performance.
In modern systems, inline heaters are typically integrated into the circulation loop so that heating is controlled in real time together with flow rate and vacuum levels. This allows the oil to reach the required processing temperature uniformly, without local overheating or deterioration of properties.
A practical example of this design can be seen in a typical industrial skid-mounted inline heater configuration used in transformer oil processing systems, where heating, control, and safety interlocks are combined in a single compact assembly. -

You’re correct that tight temperature control in the heating stage is critical for degassing efficiency and preserving dielectric properties; integrating the heater inline with the circulation loop and coordinating temperature, flow rate and vacuum is the right approach. The PPM family is designed for exactly this role: the heaters use a communicating‑vessels arrangement and built‑in insulation to deliver uniform heating, and the smart control ramps temperature to setpoints to avoid local overheating and high inrush on the electrical grid. For sizing guidance, PPM-18 covers lower throughput needs (up to about 2.2 m3/h, 19.5 kW, max 120°C), PPM-50 is the midrange heater (56 kW, standard max 150°C with a 200°C option, pressure rating up to 4 MPa) and PPM-70 supports higher throughput (up to 4 m3/h, 74 kW); the family supports direct or indirect inline configurations used on skid‑mounted transformer oil processing systems.
For reliable inline integration, install the heater on the pump discharge so heated oil is circulated continuously through the degassing/vacuum stages, use PID temperature control with staged power to avoid temperature overshoot, and interlock heater power with flow, vacuum and overtemperature/failsafe sensors so the unit cannot run dry or under unsafe pressure. Fit multiple temperature sensors (inlet/outlet and a local probe) to detect hotspots and verify thermal uniformity, and ensure the heater’s pressure rating and electrical supply match your skid design.
